Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
Small group teaching within the specialist modules for the students enrolled on this programme lends itself to the facilitation of discussion and peer review, an enriching experience for the students. Facilitators make the most of one to one discussions with students to challenge their critical thinking and problem solving skills. These skills are demonstrated through engaging in a virtual clinical case review, using real, anonymised critical care patient data. Students are encouraged to share their experiences and views within an environment of peer support through engaging in a discussion board. The involvement of clinical and Internationally recognised experts in presentations and webinars, as well as leadership and empowerment workshops support students in recognising and realising their potential.
