NMHS43240 Management in Action

Academic Year 2022/2023

This module is designed to provide all healthcare professionals with a deeper understanding and knowledge of management practices within a healthcare context. A focus on managerial effectiveness is provided to include the development of skill sets such as planning, organising, decision making and problem solving, and managing key performances. There is also a large focus on the development of key performance indicators.
Students are also introduced to environment of healthcare and the application of the theories of management to their context. The module is specifically designed to provide real-life case study accounts of management practices underpinned by theoretical explanations related to relevant management theory. A number of learning activities are provided to increase students understanding of content and management practices. Organisation mission development and methods of evaluating of strategy are also discussed.
