The purpose of this module is to facilitate the culmination and further development of your theoretical knowledge of nursing practises in conjunction with practical nursing skills in preparation for your internship. During this module, you will be supported to apply the knowledge and understanding that you have developed throughout your programme through a variety of pedagogical platforms including didactic lectures, small group work, technology-enhanced learning, and simulation workshops as you transition into your role as an internship nurse. Students will be expected to understand and demonstrate evidence-based nursing practices including patient-centred care, critical thinking, clinical judgment, decision-making skills, competent technical skills, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.

The module is part of the essential requirements for professional registration and the credit load of the module reflects the student effort hours required to achieve the learning outcomes. The expectation is that each student will engage with all reading materials assigned and attend and actively engage in all online activities and face to face teaching. There will be simulation components to this module (week 2 & week 11) which students must attend and engage with and complete all preparatory learning related to the simulations.
