Indicative Learning Outcomes: On completion, the student will be able to
• Discuss the pathophysiological processes and consequences of impaired endocrine, reproductive and integumentary function;
• Explain the common findings of a focused endocrine, reproductive or integumentary assessment in patients, including diagnostic tests;
• Discuss the common psychosocial needs of a patient experiencing endocrine/ reproductive/integumentary conditions;
• Demonstrate diagnostic reasoning and care planning skills, using NANDA, NIC and NOC, (including medications);
• Discuss the role of the nurse in identifying and reducing risk factors, anticipating potential complications and the promotion of a healthy life style in patients with endocrine/
reproductive/integumentary dysfunction.
• Discuss the care of patients with endocrine/reproductive/integumentary conditions that may require surgery.
Indicative Module Content:
This module aims to develop the student’s knowledge and understanding of best, evidence-based nursing care of persons experiencing changes in health status related to endocrine, reproductive or integumentary function.
