Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this module students will be able to:
• Discuss the relevant aspects of a nursing assessment of persons experiencing altered renal, gastro-intestinal, and hepatobiliary function.
• Critically evaluate relevant aspects of individualised care planning with reference to persons experiencing altered renal, gastro-intestinal, and hepatobiliary function.
• Discuss the role of the nurse in relation to the relevant diagnostics and therapeutics used in the care of persons experiencing altered renal, gastro-intestinal, and hepatobiliary function.
• Establish an understanding of the role of the nurse in identifying and reducing risk factors, anticipating potential complications and promoting healthy lifestyle choices for patients with altered Renal, Gastro-intestinal and Hepatobiliary function.
• Appreciate nursing attributes which contribute to developing a therapeutic relationship.
