Indicative Learning Description
This module builds on the student’s previous experience of medical-surgical and specialist care settings in children's and general nursing from Stage 2. The aim of this module is to scaffold learning and develop the student’s reflexive and critical thinking skills in the way that care is assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated in a range of specialist settings as listed for clinical placement, Stage 2.
The students will gain a deeper insight into the professional, ethical and legal contexts of nursing in an array of social contexts within the specialist settings encountered. Students are encouraged to actively engage with their own learning needs and in the acquisition of theoretical, clinical knowledge and skills required for Stage 3 within the clinical assessment document.
The credit load of the module reflects the student effort hours required to achieve the learning outcomes. The student must pass all individual clinical placements before a pass grade can be awarded for the module. Students must complete all Stage 3 clinical hours before progressing to Stage 4.
