Students will be able to:
- evaluate current methodological and theoretical approaches to ethnomusicology
- apply current theoretical and conceptual concerns to specific topics or research areas
- engage with and articulate recent ethnomusicological currents and debates
- contextualise theory and method within and outside of the discipline itself

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
Approaches to teaching and learning are holistic, dialogic, and centered on individual students' needs and interests. Students will be expected to do the readings in advance of class meetings and participate fully in discussion and class activities. These elements will directly feed into the different types of assessment, so engagement and participation are key.

How will my Feedback be Delivered?

Students will have the opportunity to prepare the class-based assessments as a group, and receive peer and teacher feedback prior to final submission at the end of the term. Students will receive individual written feedback on the final essay after the module has concluded.
