This module assists students in preparing for a 40-minute recital at the end of the Spring Trimester; students must also supply a printed programme with well-researched concert notes. It is open to all registered 3rd-year music students and music scholars (Ad Astra, Symphony Orchestra, Choral Scholars), but admission is strictly by audition. Students are expected to work privately with an instrumental/voice instructor.
Auditions shall be held during Week 1 of the Autumn Trimester.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module the students should be able to:
Develop their musical communication skills;
Explore a wide variety of suitable repertoire at a diploma standard (eg ABRSM);
Demonstrate a deeper understanding of the repertoire in producing concert notes;
Perform an accomplished and stylistically balanced concert programme at the end of the Spring Trimester.

Indicative Module Content:

Preparation for and delivery of an accomplished music recital programme. Following an initial assessment, students will participate in mentor-led workshop platforms ( 2 per trimester), and are expected to take a course of individual lessons with an approved teacher.
