Learning Outcomes:

Students should be able to recognise, read and correctly use standard mathematical symbols and notation. They should be able to ask pertinent questions, to decide which questions are relevant, answerable and so on. They must understand the reasoning behind any methods or procedures they use and be able to demonstrate that understanding. Students must also be able to produce examples themselves, in order to illustrate a definition, show a method, or test boundaries of an idea.
