A compressed module that will expose students to cutting edge applications of analytical tools and methods to real-world business problems. The topics in analytics will encompass applications of optimisation methods, Large Language Models, simulations, and heuristics. A detailed literature review on a specific area in analytics based on the student’s choice can lead to a novel research idea, potentially forming the basis of the Capstone project.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the module students should be able to:

● Describe and distinguish the applications of various analytical tools to real-world business problems
● Apply various analytical techniques and tools to solve business problems.
● Describe in detail a recent line of research in analytics
● Develop a new research idea after studying existing literature in a specific area of analytics.
● Critique research ideas in analytics
