In this module, we evaluate Information Communication and Technology (ICT) strategies and investigate their implications on different industry sectors. We focus on key concepts, and the latest empirical data to help you understand and take advantage of the evolving world of opportunities offered by ICT strategies including AI strategy components, which are dramatically altering the way business is conducted and the major shifts in the global economy. We also emphasize the three major driving forces that permeate all aspects of ICT: business development and strategy; Technological Innovations; and social and legal issues and their impacts.
Module topics include Cloud Computing, Disruption & Innovation, Data Analytics & AI, Robotics, Internet of Things, Fintech and Cybersecurity.
The module is designed to augment students’ analytical and creative capabilities, to enhance their management and consulting skills and ultimately to enable future business leaders to achieve competitive business advantage by managing information systems strategically and creatively.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this module, participants will be able to:
(i) Evaluate and discuss current and emerging trends in ICT and its impact on particular organisations and industries
(ii) Identify and discuss Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy components
(iii) Usefully interpret and apply ICT and Management concepts to real-world business cases

Indicative Module Content:

This module discusses the concepts and specific skills related to information and communication technology (ICT) and Management. Special attention wiil be on the consequences of recent developments of Social Media for competitive advantage. We will evaluate ICT & eBusiness opportunities and investigate its implications on different industry sectors.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
Research-led. Curriculum is structured around teaching subject content.

Students are expected to engage in Group Presentations using Role Play. Students are also expected to provide fellow students with feedback on their Presentations.
