Organisations are increasingly driven toward integrated interaction throughout their value chain where the ability to manage business operations utilising digital technologies is changing from being a competitive advantage to a pre-requisite in many industry sectors.

This module identifies and discusses technologies that underlie electronic business (Digital Business) processes and applications. Main topics covered include networking and communications technologies, Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 infrastructures, Digital Business security infrastructure and applications, online payment systems, and the impact of Digital Business on different industry sectors.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this module, participants will be able to:

a) Demonstrate a sound understanding of the major issues surrounding Digital Business infrastructure and associated applications.
b) Evaluate and advise on current and emerging Digital Business technologies and applications
c) Identify and analyse Digital Business application opportunities focussing on current and emerging Digital Business infrastructure components, such as mobile.
