1. Understand commensal microorganisms and how they transition to a pathogenic state in infections
2. Have a comprehensive knowledge of the role of microbiota in colonisation and infection
3. Be able to critically evaluate the impact of antibiotic treatment on the prevention and promotion of infections

There are a series of 4 assessments over the course of the semester. The results are sent to the student afterwards. For the end of semester assessment upon request students can meet with the module coordinator to review grades and receive commentary on the question they completed.
