Curricular information is subject to change.

This is an intensive module delivered over a period of three weeks in Summer (mid May to early June) which focuses on the early stage of the design and innovation lifecycle (creative thinking, concept generation, translating ideas into products that have value economically/socially). The aim of this module is to help MEngSc in Engineering Management students to develop their ability for independent creative thinking and innovation and to help them discover the potential for the design and development of their new ideas in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Students will be provided with an industry requirement for new product (or can come up with an example from their own experience) and will be required to apply the topics from the module to translate this requirement to a product concept. The resulting product concept will then be continued in the Design & Innovation II module.
