MEEN3003W Design 2

Academic Year 2022/2023

The design, prototyping and testing of solutions to an indentified customer need is a critical aspect of mechanical engineering practice. This module will combine formal delivery of core concepts of the design process, engineering practice and management, with practical design, build and test of a developed solution. The lecture based content will focus on the areas of design methodologies, project management, presentation skills and analytical analysis of design problems. The laboratory based activities will facilitate your teamwork and improve your skills in applying the learned knowledge in practical project implementation. Each team will design, prototype and test their preferred solution physically, with a component of assessment being based on the comparative performance relative to the other teams.
