Learning Outcomes:

This is a self directed student led module. The overarching outcome is that students address gaps in their clinical training or address areas of specific clinical interest and outline their learning objectives in writing prior to taking the module.

Students should detail their learning needs and outline how the clinical elective will help them meet these when submitting their proposed elective for approval. Students clinical learning needs should be related to the student's final achievement of the broad Medicine programme outcomes ( these are available on the Medicine programme pages on Brightspace) and may also relate to the specific outcomes of any of the clinical stage modules taken thus far.

Indicative Module Content:

Any aspect of clinical medicine ( must be patient facing) appropriate to the programme outcomes and clinical module outcomes for the Medicine programmes, as chosen by the student

How will my Feedback be Delivered?

As this module facillitates pre-approved student experience on clinical sites across the globe ,students will receive individual feedback on their clinical learning and performance on the sites they attend. An overview of student performance may be given to the class when the clinical elective is completed, but detailed feedback will be limited to those students who do not have their clinical learning experience signed off by the designated supervisor on the host site.
