MDCS42660 CAP Minor Dissertation

Academic Year 2023/2024

The module is part of the Professional Masters in Child Art Psychotherapy. The Minor Dissertation embraces a
broad perspective of Child Art Psychotherapy. It is distinguished from the Clinical Case Study by the selection of a
topic which is researched, studied and presented in the light of varying clinical and theoretical models. A proposal is submitted prior to beginning the Minor Thesis, for informal feedback and advice. The Minor Thesis is submitted at the end of the Spring
trimester in Year 2. Students also attend a Viva Voce (oral examination) of their thesis. A student’s overall mark comprises 50%
written minor thesis and 50% Viva examination.
100% attendance is expected, but 80% attendance is the minimum attendance required to achieve credit for the
module. Absences must be discussed with the module coordinator or course lecturers, who will require supporting
documentation (e.g. medical certificates). Students who miss part of the module may be asked to do a further piece
of work in remediation.
