MDCS42620 Supervision of Clin Practice 3

Academic Year 2023/2024

This module consists of two strands of method-specific supervision – individual and small group – which support the student’s increasing clinical caseload. Students
engage in small group supervision of their clinical Child Art Psychotherapy work with approximately 5 - 6 students to one supervisor. Supervisors are accredited with
ICP (or equivalent) and supervision is conducted in the teaching centre. Students present case material fortnightly in rotation for peer and tutor supervision. In this
module, students are supported in the continuing development of their professional practice and reflective skills.
Engagements for individual supervision are arranged by each student, externally to the course. This arrangement is verified by the course and feedback from
external supervisors in the form of a report is sought by module coordinator. This report, in conjunction with the small group supervisor’s report, informs the overall
module grade for each student.
