Curricular information is subject to change.

This Module is part of the Professional Masters in Child Art Psychotherapy. The Supervision modules run throughout the duration of training, coextensively with the Clinical Placement modules, and are designed to support students in their clinical CAP practice. This module comprises method-specific supervision in both individual and small group contexts. Students engage in individual supervision approximately fortnightly, and attend semi-regular small group supervision. Small groups typically consist of 5 - 6 students to one supervisor. In supervision, students present their clinical CAP material and engage with peers and the supervisor in a way that supports their continuing development of professional practice and reflective skills. The course supervisors are accredited with ICP (or equivalent) and have experience working with children. Supervision is conducted at the teaching centre. A psychotherapy practitioner's work is grounded on the practitioner's own experience of psychotherapy. For this reason students on the Professional Masters are required to attend their own psychotherapy with a recognised, reputable psychotherapist/psychoanalyst registered with a relevant professional body in the field. Students are expected to attend their psychotherapy for the duration of their training while on the MSc. This amounts to approximately 100 hours of psychotherapy while attending the course - i.e. weekly attendance at psychotherapy is expected. Students must attend psychotherapy at a satisfactory level in order to pass the module.
100% attendance is expected, but 80% attendance is the minimum attendance required to achieve credit for the module. Absences must be discussed with the module coordinator or course lecturers, who will require supporting documentation (e.g. medical certificates). Students who miss part of the module may be asked to do a further piece of work in remediation.
