This Module is part of the Professional Masters in Child Art Psychotherapy. It is delivered in Year 3 of training.
Seminars in this module are delivered by an experienced psychotherapist/psychoanalyst in two 5-week blocks. Clinical papers,
psychotherapeutic perspectives and techniques are examined in-depth in this module. A clinical paper is assigned for students
to read prior to each seminar, with a particular focus on child/adolescent psychotherapy. The clinical papers provide a
framework from which discussions around theoretical and practical aspects of CAP are facilitated. In this module students
continue to explore the contexts in which the practice of CAP is situated. Seminar leaders guide students in discussion of
psychotherapeutic theories and concepts relevant to CAP.
100% attendance is expected, but 80% attendance is the minimum attendance required to achieve credit for the module.
Absences must be discussed with the module coordinator or course lecturers, who will require supporting documentation (e.g.
medical certificates). Students who miss part of the module may be asked to do a further piece of work in remediation.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will be able to: 1) Demonstrate an understanding of the role of CAP as a method of psychotherapy for children/adolescents; 2) Describe various relevant
psychotherapeutic theories and concepts and apply these to their CAP practice; 3) Integrate learning from clinical papers into their CAP practice
