On completing this activity, students will be expected to be able to participate effectively in any real life professional learning experience by applying their academic experience and their theoretical knowledge in a professional research setting.
Specifically students will:
• Design a clinical audit and quality improvement project relevant to their own practice
• Conduct a literature review to assess and explain the evidence around their chosen topic
• Understand collection, management and analysis of data generated in their clinical practice area
• Understand and review quantitative and qualitative approaches to research
• Be familiar with research ethics
• Understand how to successfully complete a body of research project
• Conduct regular case reviews using reflective practice techniques

Applicants should:
• Hold an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (e.g. Medicine, Nursing & Midwifery, Psychology, Public Health, Social Sciences, Physiotherapy, etc)
• Possess an equivalent professional qualification, or
• Have relevant clinical experience in primary care, nursing or related disciplines.

Formative peer feedback relating to small-group work will be given on the same day. Project planning will be given regular feedback in person/audio/video or written formats at regular intervals and post-assessment.
