This module forms part of the MSc in Clinical & Translational Research.
The goal of this module is to provide a practical application of the range of technologies and methodologies studied in this programme to a defined research programme.
Students will further develop their research protocol and will complete a study specific
1) Systematic Review
2) Case Report Form
3) Data Management and Statistical Analysis Plan
4) Regulatory documents
Through this activity students will apply their accumulated knowledge to a research topic.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this module students will be able to
1) Complete a systematic review of the literature
2) Create clinically and scientifically validated data collection forms
3) Write a data management and statistical analysis plan for a clinical trials
4) Obtain regulatory approvals for clinical study

In addition students will prepare a thesis and present their study in an oral presentation

Indicative Module Content:

This module completes the MSc in Clinical and Translational research and will require students to use the knowledge gained in the programme to prepare a thesis. This thesis will be composed of the key documents necessary to initiate a clinical trial and so builds on the learning to date

Students must have completed all other modules in the MSc clinical and Translational research prior to attempting the clinical research project
