On completion of this module students should be able to:1. Demonstrate an awareness of the principles of the following modalities of psychotherapy: constructivist psychotherapy; humanistic and integrative psychotherapy; brief therapy; analytic psychology (Jung); systemic family therapy; group therapy; 2. Identify the possible applications of these modalities in the mental health services; 3. Recognise the ethical implications for the therapist raised by the different forms of psychotherapy introduced; 4. Identify areas of research potentially illuminated by different clinical interventions.
