LLC10010 Lang, Ling & Cultures Stage 1

Academic Year 2022/2023

The purpose of this team-taught module is to explore the commonalities and differences arising between the many disciplines taught throughout the LLC programme.

It will introduce students to a number of key concepts in Linguistics, Cultural Studies, Literature, Anthropology and Folklore. Students will also engage in a number of hands-on tasks and activities (including, for example, a visit of 'neo-Classical' Dublin and interviews - TBC in week 1).

Two specific strands central to this module are:
- the links between culture and identity;
- how folklore, memory and history intertwine.
