This module focuses on developing the skills necessary to undertake a research at postgraduate level. Students taking the module will subsequently undertake research as part of an internship, writing research papers or writing a thesis.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the modules, students should
- have a deeper knowledge of available library and online resources and be able to use such resources critically and efficiently
- be able to identify, assess and critically reflect on existing research on a given topic in Linguistics
- be able to deliver a presentation of academic literature relevant to a given topic in Linguistics
- understand how to plan and structure a an extended piece of academic writing.
