On completion of this module students should be able to identify, explain and apply the basic principles of law in relation to the vitiating factors that apply to contracts and the various remedies that apply following a breach of contract. In particular students should have developed an ability to analyse factual situations and determine the relevant principles of contract law that are applicable to the resolution of problems raised. They should be able to support their answers by reference to relevant case law and statute. As postgraduates, students should be able to discuss and analyse the central doctrines of the modern law of contract and to reflect upon the principal controversies associated with these doctrines.
