This module prepares students to independently research a graduate level dissertation in Law and/or Criminology. Students are introduced to various legal and criminological research approaches and methodologies. Training in legal research skills (such as academic honesty, locating materials in the virtual library and compiling bibliographies) is provided.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

At the successful completion of this module students will have learned how to i) formulate a viable research question that they seek to answer, ii) independently execute a major piece of advanced legal research written in the form of a dissertation, iii) articulate a visual expression of their work in a poster, iv) write a detailed and concise proposal, and v) self evaluate their written work in line with the principles of autonomous 'deep' learning.
