This module provides a general introduction to the main features of both the Singaporean legal orders. It considers aspects of Singaporean law which are of particular relevance to businesses, including tort and employment law.

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this module students will be able to:
(a) Identify and describe the functions of the various institutions of the Singaporean legal system
(b) Identify and describe the sources of law
(c) Identify and explain the elements of the tort of negligence
(d) Define a contract of employment and explain the principal features of the Singaporean employment law.
