This module will introduce students to company law and insolvency law. The module aims to equip students to identify company law problems which commonly arise in practice and to respond appropriately. The module will introduce students to the Companies Act and will train students to make use of the act in their future professional practice.

Upon successful completion of this module students will be able to:
(a) Describe the key rules and principles of company and insolvency law
(b) Identify the principal duties of directors and other officers
(c) Apply company law to a range of practical scenarios
(d) Critically assess current developments in company law
