Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this module students should be able to identify, explain and apply the basic principles of law in relation to the formation of contracts. In particular students should have developed an ability to analyse factual situations and determine the relevant principles of contract law that are applicable to the resolution of problems raised. They should be able to support their answers by reference to relevant caselaw and statute. Students should have acquired sufficient knowledge to progress to other modules which rely on an understanding of contract law including Contract: Vitiating Factors and Remedies. Finally, students should have examined the substantive components of the Incorporated Law Society�s Law of Contract syllabus pertaining to contract formation. This later outcome is relevant to those students who intend to sit the Society's Entrance Examination upon the completion of their Degree.
