- collaborative community design methodology
- working with communities of place and interest
- developing ecologically sustainable design solutions
- developing and applying site specific prototype design solutions conceptually as well as testing them at 1:1 scale

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module students should be able to:
- investigate the value of communal space in collaboration with the community
- understand how communities become empowered through increased agency
- develop climate crisis aware and mitigating open space improvement strategies
- explore opportunities of creating economically sustainable open spaces
- prepare and hold meetings with project partners
- get familiar with bureaucratic processes and restraints such as Health & Safety and liability issues
- work in (interdisciplinary) teams
- understand socially engaged environmental art methodologies
- know a variety of methods to activate a space
- explore ways of improving a community's perception of their neighbourhood’s public space
