Students will write a 12,000 - 15, 000 word minor thesis. The topic will be drawn from a broad range of areas within TESOL, have a theoretical or applied focus and usually incorporate a professional practice dimension. Before commencing study for this module, students will normally have successfully completed the Spring Research Methods module and will therefore have the necessary academic training to identity their research topic and write a thesis. Under certain circumstances and with agreement of the course director, student may select a new thesis topic at the start of Summer. Students will work independently and submit the thesis by early August.

Approaches to Teaching and Learning:
Students meet with their supervisor (or Skype) to discuss draft written work prior to submission of a minor thesis.
