Communication Theory engages students with a wide range of theoretical positions in relation to the role of media and communication systems in society, all of which have implications for how we might approach it methodologically and analytically. It provides the base for student's ongoing research as they progress through the programme by offering a historic and contextualised overview of key ideas that highlight the importance of media and communication to our understanding of and engagement with the world. At the core of this module is the understanding and application of these theoretical perspectives.
