IRST40100 Thesis/Research Project

Academic Year 2022/2023

Students will complete a 10,000-word dissertation or research project on a subject of their choice. They will receive advice on choosing a topic from the programme director in Spring, and will be directed towards appropriate supervisor(s) from among the academic staff contributing to the Irish Studies MA. They will have scheduled meetings with their supervisor(s) in the Spring trimester and will be required to submit a draft chapter or chapters to their supervisor for consideration and feedback prior to the completion of the dissertation, allowing a reasonable length of time for their supervisor to read and comment upon the submitted work and to return it prior to the Summer deadline for thesis submission. The dissertation or research project will be an original piece of research wholly researched and authored by the student.
