On completion of the module, students should be able to:
• Display a familiarity with a wide range of archival procedures and methods, including the use of digital media and databases.
• Draw from their practical experience in an archive environment in the pursuit of their professional and academic goals.
• Deepen their understanding of the connection between the documentation and study of oral tradition and vernacular culture, on the one hand, and the use of these resources in the wider community, on the other.
• Learn to self-evaluate and take responsibility for continuing academic and/or professional development.

• Feedback individually to students, on an activity or draft prior to summative assessment
Feedback on their work and on the end-of-semester report is provided to students throughout the semester through regular consultation with staff of the National Folklore Collection and with teaching staff members.
