(1) Tuiscint ar dheascán dánta a cumadh sa tréimhse 1650–1845 chun a bheith ábalta ar dhul i ngleic le dánta eile nach bhfuil pléite sa mhodúl seo. (2) Tuiscint ar mheadarachtaí fhilíocht na tréimhse seo. (3) Tuiscint ar ábhar na ndánta, ar a gcomhthéacs stairiúil agus cultúrtha. (4) Tuiscint ar ghnéithe tábhachtacha de sheantraidisiún na Gaeilge agus ar a dtábhacht d’fhilí na tréimhse atá faoi chaibidil anseo.
