- Describe their legal rights concerning novelty and intellectual property with reference to their specific research and in relation to their wider interests
- Apply intellectual property law principles (including copyright, patents, designs and trademarks) to real problems
- Explain ownership and commercialisation issues arising out of potential intellectual property
- Articulate rights of use they themselves may have for intellectual property legally owned by others
- Work in teams and develop their pitching and presentation skills in a safe environment
