During this module, we draw on the latest research and recent cases to study HRM (Human Resource Management) technology, analytics and digital innovation. We focus on how technology impacts on HRM practice, implementation and the work performed by HRM practitioners and line managers. Questions examined include: How is the world of work is changing due to the rise of online labour platforms? What are the implications for work of the growing use of algorithmic management? We study the rise of HR analytics and critical issues associated with this development as well as looking for explanations for why analytics sometimes fails to live up to its promise. We probe technology use in functional organizational areas such as performance management, employer branding, recruitment, and selection. We adopt a perspective on these developments that is critical and analytical in examining the impact of technology use in HRM on individuals, organizations, and society.
