1. Identify markets and requirements for establishing a commercial nursery
2. Evaluate propagation methods
3. Explain different propagation environments
4. Make recommendations about plant rooting products and direct stocking
5. Evaluate mechanisation and irrigation systems
6. Assess environmental impacts of nursery processes
7. Discuss substrates and peat substitution products
8. Develop weed and pathogen control strategies
9. Discuss and analyse Retail Horticulture issues, customer service practice, and merchandising
