GEOG40950 Research Design II

This module builds on, and progresses, topics delivered in GEO40390 Research Design I and continues to expose students to the tools and techniques of delivering a research dissertation It requires significant independent reading, writing and thinking. It also requires regular attendance at the School's Seminar series. It also enhances student's ability to present their research findings, including results, to a peer audience.

By the end of this module students should:
1. Have progressed significantly their Master's project.
2. Be familiar with basic qualitative and quantitative methods.
3. Understand research ethics as related to their project.

This is a student-led module which requires active /task-based learning. Assessments require critical writing and reflective learning which facilitates the steady progress of their thesis dissertation.

How will my Feedback be Delivered?

Students will receive face-to-face feedback throughout the trimester from their project superviser. face-to-face feedback will also be provided to students on the other forms of continuous assessment, notably if a student is showing evidence for poor attendance on mandatory components such as seminar attendance and participation.
