GENE40060 Genetics Research Project

Academic Year 2024/2025

This module is available only to stage 4 students majoring in Genetics. Students are required to undertake a 10-week research project on a specified topic in Genetics, under the supervision of a member of the academic staff. Students will carry out a review of the relevant literature, participate in planning the experimental approach, and carry out the required experiments and analyses. On completion of the practical component of the project, each student must write a report and make an oral presentation of their findings. Laboratory work is undertaken in Autumn; project write-up and presentation is completed in Spring. The assesment with comprise of practical mark (20%), thesis (70%) and oral presentation (10%).
