GDIC2006K Food Analysis (Theory and Experiments)

The food analysis & experiment is designed for students who are undertaking dual undergraduate degree programmes at Guangzhou-Dublin International College. The module specifically aims to enable students to master the theoretical knowledges and operating skills in analysis of food nutritional components, restricted components (such as food additives) and residue analysis of food contaminants (such as heavy metal, pesticides and veterinary drugs). It will lay the foundation for students to engage in analysis and detecting, safety evaluation, quality control or scientific research in the fields of food processing, food distribution and consumption in the future.

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
• enable students to fully understand the principle of food analysis.
• to master the operating skills in analysing typical food nutritional components, restricted components (such as food additives) and food contaminants
• to master data processing and testing report writing ability
• enable students to understand the development trend of food analytical methods.
