This module concentrates on further developing advanced reading, writing and speaking skills in French. In the weekly 2-hour seminars, students practice translating a variety of texts in various registers both into and out of French and in the weekly 1-hour spoken language classes they further develop their level of oral expression in French through the discussion of ideas and situations explored in three set texts.

In-module repeats of select component elements may be made available during this module for students.
Any in-module repeat is only available to students who have already sat and failed an in-term component; it carries a one-grade penalty; and it does not extend to orals or RDS exams.

About this Module

Learning Outcomes:

Students will develop a deeper and wider mastery of the structures and nuances of the French language. They will also develop a more advanced understanding of the act of translation into and out of French. In addition, students will develop an enhanced ability to discuss orally the ideas presented (or implicit) in various registers in narratives that they have read and discussed in spoken French classes.

Students who have achieved at least a B grade in this module are deemed to have attained CEFR level C1.
