This module concentrates on further developing advanced reading, writing and speaking skills in French. In the weekly 2-hour seminars, students practice translating a variety of texts in various registers both into and out of French and in the weekly 1-hour spoken language classes they further develop their level of oral expression in French through the discussion of ideas and situations explored in three set texts.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will develop a deeper and wider mastery of the structures and nuances of the French language. They will also develop a more advanced understanding of the act of translation into and out of French. In addition, students will develop an enhanced ability to discuss orally the ideas presented (or implicit) in various registers in narratives that they have read and discussed in spoken French classes.

How will my Feedback be Delivered?

The activities examined in assessments are practiced in weekly spoken and written French classes. In-trimester written assignments and tests are returned duly graded with detailed individual feedback. Informal feedback will also be provided during the written and oral classes.
