FR20040 French Language II b: Expression française écrite et orale

Academic Year 2022/2023

This module enables students to develop their language production skills. Emphasis is on developing written expression through a wide range of written exercises, including translation. Oral work will focus on presentation skills. A number of essential grammatical and syntactic structures will also be covered. Students who have achieved at least a B grade in this module are deemed to have attained CEFR Level B2.

Learning Outcomes:

On successful completion of this module, students should have developed their ability to:- understand and produce, sophisticated and grammatically correct French on a range of topics within a Francophone context; - Conduct a well-structured, short oral presentation and following discussion on an issue of topical concern within a Francophone context, displaying advanced competence in comprehension, pronunciation and intonation, and mastery of appropriate grammatical structures and vocabulary.

Students who have achieved at least a B grade in this module are deemed to have attained CEFR Level B2.
