FIN30290 Recent Research Topics in Finance

Academic Year 2021/2022

The objective of the module is two-fold. One objective is to guide and assist the participants in understanding the research process and evaluating their own research results and those of others. To this end, current topics in the research agenda in Finance and Financial Services will be introduced and discussed. The second objective is to develop the skills and competencies required to undertake independent research, whether in industry or academia, by guiding the students through the process of isolating a research priority, developing a research plan (and proposal where required), conducting empirical analyses, and presenting the results in a rigorous and compelling way. Students will undertake both individual and group research organised around research tasks and ideas.
