The objective of this module is to support Fellows in their understanding and application of statistical tools to equip them with the ability to be in a position to manipulate, analyse, interpret and present qualitative and quantitative data and effectively communicate the significance of results.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this module students will be able to:
1. Set up and critically analyse data sets in both a parametric and non-parametric way for two and more samples;
2. Build and validate statistical models with continuous response variables and multiple predictors (both categorical and continuous) using ANOVA and ANCOVA;
3. Use multiple regression, partial least squares regression and principal component regression to determine the relationship between multiple variables and to allow prediction of a score of one variable based on the scores on several other variables;
4. Communicate effectively research findings in a clear concise manner using correct terminology based on output from R.
