ENVP40190 Applications of Enviro Policy

Academic Year 2021/2022

Environmental Policy practitioners require up-to-date knowledge of contemporary approaches to environmental policy and regulation and knowledge of the tools that may be used to assist in environmental policy design. This workshop-based module provides to participants a summary of best practice in key areas of relevance to environmental policy. Each year, three topics are presented. These topics vary from year-to-year depending on perceived need. For 2021/22 academic year, the topics will be:

Environmental Impact Assessment
Environmental Law
Climate Change Politics and Policy
Other topics may be covered as they arise

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this course, the successful student should, inter alia, have an appreciation of the some important topics in contemporary environmental policy including:

An knowledge of the basic concepts of Environmental Impact Assessment
An understanding of the key elements of Environmental Law
A comprehension of the key issues arising in respect of Climate Change Policy
