Learning Outcomes:
On completion of this course, the successful student should, inter alia, have:
• An appreciation of the key factors which influence the degree of effectiveness of environmental policy initiatives.
• An awareness of tools available to address a range of local and global environmental challenges.
• A capacity to undertake a rudimentary analysis of environmental policy initiatives using some of the tools / models discussed in the module workshops.
• Enhanced transferable skills such as critical thinking, teamwork and communications.
Indicative Module Content:
This module will be divided into a number of constituent parts:
• Introduction to environmental policy analysis
• Overview of analysis frameworks
• Overview of environmental policy-making process at EU and National Level
• Case studies associated with selected themes including Water, Transport, Climate and Energy, Bioeconomy
• Future of environmental policy-making
