1. This module will introduce students to basic aspects of Early Irish grammar, phonology, orthography and syntax. Students will develop a basic vocabulary including nouns, verbs and prepositions through the completion of graded exercises. Previous experience of learning languages would be an advantage.
Learning Outcomes:
1. understand the orthography of Early Irish
2. deploy a simple basic vocabulary of nouns, verbs and prepositions
3. identify the basic grammatical terms used in the description of Early Irish
4. translate simple sentences from Early Irish into English
